Hello! I am an Assistant Professor of Management in the Culverhouse College of Commerce at University of Alabama, where I lead a research program exploring human-technology interaction in the workplace. I also teach business Business Communications and Leadership Communications courses.
I received my Ph.D. in Cognitive and Human Factors Psychology from University of Central Florida (UCF), under the direction of Dr. Peter Hancock. During the latter half of my doctoral studies, I completed a 2-year internship with the Army Research Laboratory, working under the direction of Dr. Jessie Chen to examine the use of transparency for improving performance with intelligent machines. Prior to that, I spent two years working under the directions of Dr. Eduardo Salas and Dr. Shawn Burke researching human performance measurement and team processes.
To date, I have led research funded by several government organizations including NASA, ARL, AFRL, and NSF. Additionally, I have both assisted and led research funded by multiple private organizations, including defense contractors and car manufacturers.
